Lake Paddle Battle

Join us for the Taylorsville
Lake Paddle Battle. Saturday, June 7, 2014 will be a day of fun on
the water, doing something we all enjoy, kayaking and canoeing! All skill
levels are welcome. If you don't have a canoe, you may rent one through
Salt River Canoe Outfitters for $20 per person. This is a fun event to
try canoeing or kayaking if you haven't and always wanted to.
AND it's for a good cause, The Friends of Taylorsville Lake State Park, which promotes conservation, recreation, and works with the KY Dept. of Parks to provide enhancements to Taylorsville Lake State Park. All proceeds are donated to the Friends of Taylorsville Lake State Park.
Juniors Race (10-14yrs) 1 mile- 0.50 mile paddle out, round the checkpoint, and 0.50 mile back
Novice Race (15+ years) 5 miles- 2.5 miles out, round the checkpoint, and 2.5 miles back
Expert Race (15+ years) 10 miles- 5 miles out, round the check point, and 5 miles back.
*Prizes will be awared for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the above 3 races.
Just For Fun 1.5 miles- 0.75 miles out, round the check point, and 0.75 mile back
If you want to join us, but don't wish to participate in the race or competition, this course if for you. Up to two people per kayak or canoe for the Just For Fun course only.
Kids/Juniors Race 10-14 yrs & Seniors 65+ $10 After 5/27/14 $12

Don't forget our
Silly Hat Contest- if you enter and finish the race with a silly hat, whoever has the
silliest hat will win a gift card or similar valued prize! One winner
from the Juniors race and one winner from the 15+ years and older races will
win a $25 gift card or similar valued prize.

You must be 10 years of age or older to participate. Anyone under 18 years of age, must have a parent or legal guardian present.
We encourage you to bring friends and family to visit and cheer you one, even if they aren't participating in the race, they can hike the park trails, rent a boat at the marina, or bring a cooler and chair, and enjoy the scenery. Or better yet, stay for the weekend and enjoy a weekend getaway in Taylorsville, KY!

PLEASE NOTE: Rain or Shine, the race will occur. The only reschedule date will be if the race officials deem it unsafe due to lightening. NO REFUNDS, as all of the proceeds are donated to the Friends of Taylorsville Lake State Park which will be used for conservation and enhancement of TLSP.
