May 3, 2008 at Churchill Downs Dubbed The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports for its short yet heart-pounding duration, this annual tradition is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. The two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival precedes the event and includes The Pegasus Parade, one of the longest parades in the United States.

Early October Festivities begin with a traditional chili supper sponsored by the senior class at the Spencer County High School. Alumni return to support their alma mater. This fun annual tradition includes a beauty pageant and concert in town square; a Saturday-morning parade; homecoming contest; game booths; arts & crafts booths; Battle of the Bands, country and gospel music and competitive events for adults and children. Saturday, October 11, 2008 (9 am - 4 pm at the Paroquet Springs Conference Center in Shepherdsville, KY) An annual gathering of Pug people and their dogs for fun and a good cause, but this fundraising event isn't just limited to pugs. All breeds of dogs and their human friends are invited to attend. Activities include a lot of doggie socialization, costume contests, pug races, raffles, food, vendors, and more! This event offers something for people of all ages and families are invited to attend with or without their beloved family pets. Second weekend in December Held at Spencer County High School. Features all types of farm toys from all over the country as well as unique arts & crafts booths.
Second Saturday in December Celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas with free children's activities, live entertainment, a parade, festive decorations, caroling and carriage rides. Bring the little ones to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus and join the tree decoration contests in the planning and zoning building.
